1- Forming the future tense: (Gelecek zamanı ifade ederken “I” ve “we” den sonra)

– I shall visit my teacher tomorrow.

– We shall play basketball in the afternoon.

Not: Amerikan İngilizcesinde “I” ve “we” den sonra kullanılırdı fakat bugünün İngilizcesinde SHALL yerine WILL kullanılır.

2- Suggestions or polite requests: (Kibar bir şekilde öneri yapma ya da istekte bulunma)

– Shall I open the window?

– Pencereleri açayım mı?

– Shall I make you some coffee?

– Sana biraz kahve yapayım mı?

3- Commands and military orders: (Emir kipi)

– You shall guard the gate.

– Sen kapıyı koruyacaksın.

4- Strong determination: (Kararlılık ifade ederken)

– I shall not do it even if you force me.

– Sen beni zorlasan bile onu yapmayacağım.

– I shall definitely finish it today.

– Onu bugün kesinlikle bitireceğim.

5- Threats: (Tehdit ifadeleri)

– If you are late for school again, you shall be punished.

6- Promises: (Söz verme ya da vaat etme)

– You shall get extra money if you work overtime.
