SHOULD

4- In questions with ‘ I ’ and ‘ We ’ asking for agreement or advice: ricalarda

– It is very hot. Should I open the windows?

5- Expresses an unfulfilled expectation or obligation with  yapmalıydı fakat yapmadı ,past tense

should have + past participle:

– He should have come to the meeting. (But he didn’t)

– Toplantıya gelmesi gerekirdi/gelmeliydi. ( Fakat gelmedi )

– You shouldn’t have believed him. (But you believed)

– Ona inanmamalıydın. (Fakat inandın)

6- Description: Should + see-hear-taste: hoşuna gidecek yapmalısın

– You should see his eyes. They are your favorite color.

– Onun gözlerine bakmalısın. Senin en sevdiğin göz rengi.

– You should see their wedding rings. They are beautiful.

– Onların nikâh yüzüklerine bakmalısın. Çok güzeller.

OUGHT TO

1- Obligation, duty, and advice (Mecburiyet, yükümlülük ve nasihat):

– You ought to eat less if you want to keep fit.

– Formunu korumak istiyorsan daha az yemelisin.

– You oughtn’t to eat so much if you want to keep fit.

– Formunu korumak istiyorsan fazla yememelisin.

– Your marks are poor, you ought to study harder.

– Notların zayıf, daha sıkı çalışmalısın/çalışsan iyi olur.

2- Probability or possibility (Olasılık):

– He got a good mark in the exam. He ought to be happy.

– Sınavda iyi not aldı.Mutlu olmalı/herhalde mutludur.

3- Expresses a duty which hasn’t been done or fulfilled expectation with

ought to have + past participle (Yapılması gereken fakat yapılmayan bir yükümlülük)
– Your marks are very poor. You ought to have studied harder.

– Notların çok zayıf, daha çok çalışmalıydın/daha çok çalışman gerekirdi (ama çalışmamışsın.)

– You oughtn’t to have neglected your lessons.

– Derslerini ihmal etmemeliydin.
